The schedule and registration has been moved to the Schedule and Registration page!
This page is info about the classes and how to prepare.
Notes for all students:
1.
If it is your first time to the studio watch our YouTube Video on how to get there.
2. Also, for first timers to the studio please come a bit early to fill out paperwork if you haven't already done it via email.
3. Please come a bit early for payment if you haven't already paid online or over the phone.
4. Wear comfy clothes, the instructor will need to see your body though for proper posture so not too baggy. Shoes with a heel you are comfortable dancing in are highly recommended. Think of a dance type/jazz type heel to start with.
4. The studio is located in a warehouse area. The area is patrolled, our building has security, and our building is secured. It looks a bit rougher than it really is. Even so, we encourage everyone to leave in groups.

About Belly Dance
Belly Dance is a unique way of exercising. It uses ALL the muscles in the natural movement of the body, while promoting creativity through expressive dance. It improves posture and muscle tone, promotes weight loss, reduces stress, instills a sense of feminine power, and is a heck of a lot of fun!
Belly dance is the oldest known, surviving dance form, estimated at over 3,000 years old. In ancient Middle East and Mediterranean cultures, it was not performed as entertainment. It was primarily a birthing preparation and ceremony; women would hone their muscles to prepare for pregnancy and childbirth. At the time of delivery, the feminine community would gather and dance to assist and celebrate the birth.
Belly dance was introduced to "the western world" at the Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893. The dancer, who's history is increasing in popularity with the recent popularity of this art form, was known as "Little Egypt."
